The majority of resources invested in R&D by CLP are aimed at finding and developing materials and processes which meet the consumer behaviors and demands. The leading trends in consumer behavior are the demand for safe and easy to use packaging, food preparation and consumption that is safe and easy and awareness of environmental impact.
In CLP we aim to meet these trends in each and every one of our products and processes. For example the development of laser scoring has resulted in providing packages of all sorts that do not require the use of sharp objects at home. The western world demand for meals ready to eat (MRE) has driven us to develop cost effective solutions for cooking foods in microwave (which can not be done in tin cans). Our research in adhesives and inks and cooperation with market leading suppliers is taking us to a cleaner and environmentally safer use of raw materials. Living in a world where marketing, advertising and product design has driven us to printing techniques which meet every design trend known – like "paper like" plastic, combination of gloss and mat finishes and shaped pouches ideally serving the product message.
